It's hard to understand why he stopped caring for me and just basically dumped me! I've had no appointments, no reviews into my medication and no follow ups of any sort. I am on the verge of making a complaint to someone high up in Betsi Cadwaladr because complaining within his unit would be a pointless waste of time. The worst thing is that we are in the middle of a pandemic and my mental health is crumbling! I have been suicidal, depressed and anxious. He appeared to want to help originally but I think he likes to see as many patients as possible and likes to keep the cogs turning! He basically does not want to help long term which is awful for patients who have life long problems! I am appalled, disgusted and at a loss for where to turn next.

Dr Singh says that he will arrange an appointment but does not make one. He promises to review medication but it does not happen ( not even 12 months later!). No care plan has been updated for nearly three years! Not happy with the quality of care ( lack of) that this consultant provides!

Says one thing but does another. No appointment for over a year despite my husband's condition worsening and numerous contact with CMHT. False sincerity No time for patients Seems to want to self promote As others said he is more about looking good to the board than wanting to help his in need patients. We are going to change consultants and ask for review.

Although he is always nice and polite i dont think he really has time for his patients. I get the feeling that he would rather be involved in admin and management than patient contact. Its hard to get appointments and you see him rarely. Maybe he is trying to keep bosses happy by having a massive case load but its no good if patients never get to see him! To be honest, the whole setup at Ty Derbyn is a joke!!! You're met at reception by a man dressed in a skirt with badly put on makeup and he seems unable to let anyone know you are there and waiting!!!! The entrance reeks of smoke and the whole building is very depressing.... The whole system from reception to psychiatry needs a rebuild!

How come Dr Singh has so much to say about the receptionist, but neglects to give his comments about the fact he invents lies about young women? Could he give us some comments about the continuous abuse of medical files to invent slander about victims? This practice is epidemic at Betsi and it's sickening. You'd get more honest staff on the end of have P I P scam than you get at Betsi and we can only wonder what it is that you think the Welsh have done to you. Don't keep us all in the dark.

Profile

Tell me about your experience of Care and Treatment by the Wrexham Community Mental Health Team.
I work as a Adult Psychiatrist with the Wrexham County Mental Health Team providing specialist medical input for patients with serious and enduring mental illness.

Clinical assessments focus on developing a joint understanding of difficulties faced by patients which inform the next steps to be taken. Significant family members, carers are encouraged to participate in discussions around diagnosis and treatment. The ultimate aim is to help patients develop a capacity for self management by means of education, informed decision making and full participation in treatment decisions.

I am very keen for my patients and their carers to become involved in teaching and training of mental health professionals. I am setting up a pilot project with HAFAL, aiming to highlight to medical students/junior doctors to understand patient experience of living in the community whilst coping with mental illness.

In addition to my clinical work I am an Executive Member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists in Wales. I recently took on the role of Lead for Mentoring of Psychiatrists in Wales.
