I have been seeing Dr McCabe for about 3 years now and she saw me through the most difficult period of my life in a compassionate, sensitive manner. I suffered from post natal depression which became progressively worse when my father passed away suddenly. She was keen to refer me to a psychiatrist and CMHT as i was showing symptoms of clinical depression, i refused to go. Throughout this period she was accepting of my fear of dealing with strangers and my lack of trust. She remained available for emergency appointments and never pressured me to change my mind, through this approach i felt able to acknowledge the need to accept specialist interventions and engaged with CMHT. This was a massive step and proved to be a positive experience for me where i am not medicated appropriately and leading a normal life. I always find Dr McCabe extremely thorough in her examinations and she never leaves a stone unturned. She always appears to show compassion and has an excellent manner whenever i attend the surgery.
