Dr Philippa Borra, Head of Service and Theatre Manager at Hammersmith Hospital is a consummate professional who answered all questions when posed. One day for example I was stunned to see my Dad in pain and looking terrible when the day before he looked so well. I asked to see Dr Borra and she came instantly to my aid. She put me at ease by detailing that it was important that my Dad have a nasogastric tube (NG Tube) insertion to help decompress the intestinal obstruction. It would be short-term discomfort for long-term advantage. She showed empathy and reassured me that this was the right choice. And it was. She was always polite, respectful and supportive. Daily she would pop in to see how we were. My Dad - who's a hard man to impress really liked Dr Borra and felt she was a real asset to Hammersmith Hospital.
