On Friday 17th July 2015 I sustained a really nasty gash across the knuckle of my left hand index finger-it was down the bone and just over an inch long.The gash was caused by a piece of rusty metal in my garden.Bleeding was profuse as I am on daily WARFARIN tablets.My wife drove me to Bilbrook Medical centre immediately.The reception staff took swift action and I was quickly referred to Dr.Maidment and Sister Sue Gribble as a 'walk-in emergency'.Everything was explained to me as they prepared the wound,and carried out the stitching process.
I suffered no undue discomfort and my treatment was done in a totally professional manner.
My thanks to both of them.

Having a daughter with special needs, I have always found Dr Maidment to be a kind and caring doctor who takes time to explain things clearly and listens to my concerns.

Thank you for that useful and encouraging feedback - it is not easy with all the other pressures targets and political imperatives to remain focussed on the caring aspects of being a Dr, which because it is so difficult to measure quantitatively ( with a number) that feedback such as yours ( qualitative) is so important to help us to retain that important focus. Dr. Maidment gave me a clear, concise diagnosis, given in a manner understandable to the layman.All the treatment options were discussed and together we decided on a treatment Iwas the most comfortable with. This being the case I felt included in the decision making concerning my condition

I work in general practice in Bilbrook and have been at the practice since 1981.
Over the years I been very involved in training of Doctor sin the locality and those entering general practice.
The practice strives to deliver a high standard of patient centred care.
Among the many aspects of general practice which I enjoy, Dermatology,Minor surgery and Musculoskeletal medicine are areas I have developed more experience in.I have had training and developed special skllls in musculoskelatal ultrasound and Ear Microsuction.
In addition to my work and family I enjoy Sailing,cycling and wearing bright bow ties.
