I have seen Dr Arkwright regarding my child. I felt fobbed off from the start of the appointment with him dismissing my child's issue. Despite my gp's concerns he didn't offer any tests to understand the underlying condition until I pushed for more. Even then he said he won't be seeing us again. I felt I was just another he wanted off his to do list. He was also making a number of assumptions such as type of food we eat (probably going off our background!). And to top it off when I said my child is struggling to eat, he told me my child could do with losing weight. There were also 2 nurses in the room who were doing absolutely nothing. What a disappointing appointment from Manchester children's hospital!

My son has been under Dr. Peter Arkwright's care for nearing 15 years. He has always been kind, compassionate and helpful. He knows what his is doing and you would be a fool not to listen to his advice and treatment/care plans. He treats both the patient and the family with respect. He is meticulous at what he does and he knows his field inside and out. I have never once had to chase him for anything nor thought that his treatment plan, etc was wrong. He is easy to talk to. My teenage son is happy to have a conversation with him and feels comfortable around him. I can't fault him. If I had to say there is one thing that people might find off putting is that he is quite laid back but when you realise he is Australian and this is how they are you understand his attitude to things. Doesn't mean he isn't always on the case or uninterested.

My son has been under this Dr for some years now. Yet there are several things I’ve had to tell the Dr to do. He wasn’t checking the levels of the drugs in my sons blood to make sure they was active until I made him aware this is what my dr does and is imperative. He also thinks I am unaware that Drs, GPS and pharmacy’s get PAID to administer flu jabs. Nor that a patient mother is more than entitled to make a decision regarding her sons care!! I discussed with him that I’d researched flu jabs and felt the risk wasn’t worth it. He has since continued to be rude and write it as a reason for my son being ill and saying he has to have it yearly. I had disagreed with the jab. But my ex was not of the same opinion and I felt bullied to agree to the jab. Yet the Dr failed to arrange this and then now goes on to blame me! Can’t wait tell my son comes of age and can be seen by my dr as I have the same condition as my son.

My son has been seeing Dr Peter Arkwright for 2 years now and the difference in care from previous specialists is amazing. When attending appointments we never feel rushed and are able to ask as many questions as we want. It really feels like he truly cares about his patients and definitely seems to go that extra mile. My son who is now 8 years old thinks that Dr Peter Arkwright is the best doctor ever!!!!! Dr Arkwright also has an amazing team of specialist nurses!
