My partner is experiencing a number of symptoms and I was with her during two consultations this week. On both occasions, Dr McDonald showed wonderful listening skills and a caring attitude. She shared her thoughts with us in a way which gave me great confidence, yet has also involved us in the process of diagnosis. I am very glad she is my partner's GP.

This is my second visit to Dr McDonald and both times she has been excellent. Dr McDonald adopts a very holistic approach to understanding issues and takes time to explain her assessment and thoughts. On my first appointment I was in the waiting room for 30 minutes or so and 3 or 4 other patients were all 'singing her praises' in terms of the treatment they had previously received and how thorough she is. I can happily say that matched my experience of her surgery appointment and she is first class.

This was the worst medical consultation i have ever had. This doctor absoltely horrified me as to why she was in the chosen profession. She did not know her basic medical knowlege, or at least did not make me feel confident that she had that knowledge. I am well aware of the strains of the consultation time and the time pressures of working as a doctor but there above all there is a duty to care and to feel as though your patient is cared for. I saw this doctor for a deeply concerning issue to me yet i felt as though she did not have the ability to listen and process what i was telling her and nor did she have the time. There are times when one doctor can make a difference by spending a few extra minutes to at least address what you came in to see them for. She did not care and sent me away. This doctor gave good eye contact at first and i was hopeful but ultimately did not have the ability to put her patient first, care or listen.
