Having suffered a heart attack twenty years earlier I decided I would like to check how things were going and I’m very pleased to have made an appointment with Dr Kirk as he immediately understood my reasons and made me feel very much at ease.
At the first consultation Dr Kirk explained clearly the direction he felt it best to take, arranged for the necessary scans to be undertaken and slightly revised my medication.
At the follow up appointment Dr Kirk went through the results of the tests thoroughly, confirming that he felt no need for any further action at present apart from my making some lifestyle changes and prescribing an additional tablet.
I believe Dr Kirk is passionate about his vocation, extremely knowledgeable, yet very easy to talk to and I would highly recommend him.

Dr Paul Kirk is a Consultant Cardiologist at the Lister Hospital Stevenage as his NHS base. He also works as an honorary consultant at the Royal Brompton Hospital in advanced imaging techniques.
Dr Kirk is experienced in general cardiology, treatimg a broad range of heart conditions. He has also has specialist interests in cardiac disease in pregnancy and is a practioner of advanced cardiac imaging techniques. He regularly performs coronary angiography, transthoracic echocardiography, transoesophageal echocardiography and other advanced imaging modality. He cares for patients both in an outpatient clinic and inpatient setting.
Dr. Kirk qualified from St Georges Hospital Medical School, London in 1999. He completed his post graduate higher specialist training in general medicine and cardiology in hospitals throughout London and the Eastern deanery. He completed a NIH (National Institute of Health, America) funded fellowship at the Royal Brompton Hospital, Imperial College contributing to an doctorate of medicine under the supervision of Professor Dudley Pennell.
He has held a long-standing interest in advanced imaging, such as 3D echocardiography, transoesophageal echocardiography and stress echocardiography. All techniques that he employs in his daily practice.
Dr Kirk beievs strongly in the value of research and has published extensively in cardiology including high profile journals such as Circulation. Dr Kirk has presented nationally and internationally for which he was awarded the prestigious accolade of “Young Investigator of the Year” in the USA.
