My mother was entrusted to the glade unit to receive treatment for dementia and hallucinations. She had a test due within a few weeks but as her situation was worsening we were told if she was admitted on a asection 2 then the procedure could move forward and speed up the process of putting mum on medication. The lack of communication between members of the departments, the Glade care workers and the doctors has been appalling. The procedure was not moved forward, the doctor was reluctant to begin medication until it had happened, and when pressed on the matter, he had to be told his job. Through mums entire stay at the glad no one could give the family a clear answer on mums condition or appointments for her care. Her dementia was eventually diagnosed as a rapid and aggressive and her last couple of months were spent in a flux of beaurocratic uncertainty instead of with family.
