This psychiatrist kept delaying appointments and wouldn't take my mental health condition (depression, anxiety, wrong medication) serious.

In my experience it was a waste of time. Dr akanuma didn't keep appointments, i had to remind her 3 times. She was scatterbrained and not approapriate for a psychiatrist. She lacked sincerity.

I saw Dr. Akanuma twice for assesmnt and a third time for an update, as there was a miscommunication. Her communication is lacking, I had to chase constantly for appointments to be kept. It seemed that she didn't take my concerns at face value and I left with a feeling of disregard. In no way was there the path to diagnose me, instead it seemed she didn't understand what my problems are. I have multiple traumatic experiences in my life, with one major recently, but there was no acknolegdment of this. I would ask for a different assessor.

My experience with dr Akanuma is very poor. She did not take my trauma serious and kept downplaying hugely traumatic events in my life. I left feeling more hopeless than when I first started to speak with her. It is best to see a trauma specialist, not a psychiatrist and not dr Akanuma.
