I recently underwent a breast augmentation at Springfield hospital with Dr Akotia as my anaesthetist. From the second I met Dr Akotia, I was put at ease. He has a fantastic bed side manner, has a great sense of humour and is very kind. He was very clear in his instructions/advice. I trusted him 100% and would recommend Dr Akotia to anyone.

Procedure carried out on Easter Saturday 8th April. Too say I have total anxiety of having a general anaesthetic is to the point I cannot explain. I first met Niven on the morning of my procedure. I explained my anxieties and he was absolutely perfect! Just said, lets do a spinal block so you can be awake! Total music to my ears. Worry just ebbed away! Although not for everyone, it was perfect for me! The only thing is, you have to listen to Niven's playlist! Actually was very good! Very cool! Had the spinal, procedure carried out successfully! Was visited after by Niven, just to make sure everything was recovering ok! Could not fault! Friendly, kind and put you at ease at every step! Highly recommend! 5 stars! Thankyou!!!! Tracy Abrahams.

This was the first time I had met Niven, but straight away from him visiting me in my room, I felt at ease and completely confident that he would look after me during my operation. He made sure I understood the procedure and how I would manage the pain after the operation. His bedside manner is excellent, so polite and jovial. He made me laugh so much which put nerves at bay. A really lovely person and although I hope not to have another operation, I would be over the moon to have him as the anaesthetist again. Thank you Niven!!

Simply the best consultant in Anaesthesia ever. I am terrified of general anaesethetic and Niven has put me to sleep over 4 times now. He is kind and caring and completely puts me at ease. He has a great sense of humour while remaining totally professional. I trust him completely.
