Dr Akotia was absolutely fantastic with me as I don't think I was the easiest patient he had on the day. I was incredibly nervous and very anxious about having the anesthetic for a breast augmentation. From the moment he entered my room ahead of the operation his manner and sense of humour shone through and he made me feel like I was his only patient he needed to see. My anxiety started to disappear and was replaced with a feeling of trust for Niven and his knowledge and professionalism. On entering the operating theatre he again put me at ease and chatted and joked wirh me and next thing I knew I was waking up after the op. He came to see me on the recovery unit and assured me that everything had gone well. I would definitely request him again if I had to undergo another operation. But next time I think we should discuss his taste in music and he needs to turn it up

A very personable doctor. Was asking questions about my holiday as he was putting me under and when I came around I jokingly asked if he remembered where I was going and he did! I came around very quickly and was alert and can only say I must have had the best anaesthetist

I recently underwent a breast augmentation at Springfield hospital with Dr Akotia as my anaesthetist. From the second I met Dr Akotia, I was put at ease. He has a fantastic bed side manner, has a great sense of humour and is very kind. He was very clear in his instructions/advice. I trusted him 100% and would recommend Dr Akotia to anyone.
