Dr Patel qualified in 2000 from University College London Medical School, graduating in the top 10% of her class. She trained in Clinical Oncology at Charing Cross Hospital, Mount Vernon Cancer Centre and University College London Hospital. Following completion of her specialist training, she spent a year undergoing a Fellowship In Prostate cancer at McGill University Health Centre in Montreal, Canada. She was appointed as a Consultant Clinical Oncologist at the Royal Surrey County Hospital in September 2014, working between St Luke's Cancer Centre and Frimley Park Hospital. She specialises in the management of Breast cancer and Acute Oncology and is qualified to treat patients with chemotherapy, radiotherapy and targeted therapies
