Dr Neville Purssell

I don’t often get to get an appointment with Dr Purssell these days, mostly because of the Covid experience and having to reduce patients face to face. However phone appointments are thankfully carrying on and the Surgery is open as usual. I considered myself lucky to book a phone appointment with Dr. Purssell recently. I’d almost forgotten how good a Doctor he is, how he listens carefully but also talks with his patients in the manner of previous great Dr’s at Paddington Green/Lisson Grove, especially 2 I recall being trail blazers in talking with patients and ‘not at them’, namely Dr. Brian Jarman and more recently Dr. Andrew Elder who I saw a handful of times, and helped me during a very hard time in my life, get better mental health by joining a regular weekly psychotherapy group at the TavistockCentre. The ‘talking’ history of Lisson Grove HC continues on in Paddington Green HC. We are very lucky that a form of talking therapy still exists amongst both Lisson Grove and Paddington Green HC’s. We need to appreciate our hard working GP’s these days, under duress and working long days. Long live the NHS.

I’ve been attending this practice for the last 9 years and was always very well treated there. The staff is very professional and helpful.

Dr Purssell is not just a great GP, he's obviously a caring person who takes extra time to listen carefully. Considerate, academically knowledgeable, and a well liked and trusted doctor. I abhor the cuts to the NHS and we are lucky Paddington Green HC is run so well, headed up by Drs Pussell and Dr Chopra.

GP seemed to be in a rush perhaps because appointments were running late. As a result, service was disappointing. Lack of previous checks, quality of advice was poor (again due to lack of time). In comparison to my previous experiences seemed very disappointing.
