I've been with this surgery since I was 6 year old I'm now 56 years old,& it breaks my heart how poor this surgery is with patient care, the previous GP,s were all Caring, professional & everyone of them went out there way to support me & my family, I don't feel I can trust my personal problems to the full extent with this surgery staff now, many a time after a phone consultation as appointments face to face are barely available, I have cried as feel I get the minimum support & my faith in this once fantastic surgery has went downhill, & I use to have negative opinion when I heard patients of all age were going to alternative & at times not legal substances due to lack of being heard, lack of support , from this once highly rated GPsugery, so sad , as surely the staff could improve there service as well as the surgery manager helping to improve devices as they only need to look how our past GPs provided excellent service historically.

The Murray Surgery will not be the same and it is the patients who have suffered since he left. Doctor Mannis was our family doctor, he knew 2 of my children from a very young age and was my doctor through my third pregnancy. My youngest only ever trusted him and would refuse to see anyone but him. He was so upset to find he had left. I once had a paramedic speak with him on the phone when my son was very poorly and the paramedic came off the phone saying how much of an amazing doctor he was and i should never let him go... Said it was a rare find nowadays. If i knew what surgery he had moved to i would change doctors that is how much i trust him. He was a brilliant doctor both with children and adults and is sorely missed by our family. I hope wherever he is he is happy. More doctors should strive to be like him and stop worrying about time and more about the duty of care. That would be a great start. I habe been at the surgery my whole life and this is the worst i have seen it. However, new phone systems in place meaning you don't need to constantly hit redial and instead are placed in a queue i think will help people actually get an appointment when needed. After speaking with a few what i think are new office staff i have had two great positive, helpful experiences. So here's hoping its on track to get better.

The surgery has gone down hill in recent years. I would not reccomend this surgery to anyone. Trying to get a doctor is a complete nightmare. The receptionist try to palm you off to a nurse instead. You cant get to see who you ask for and when you have a few long term health issues going on this is no use. You cant get to see a family doctor any longer that knows you inside out. By the time you explain all your conditions to a different doctor who knows nothing about you its time to leave. Time is up! I have been told numerous times when walking in the door your appointment is only ten mins long.. hello to you too !! Let me at least sit down. I am looking to move surgery after being with them since i was 3 years old. My own doctor Dr mannis has now left and this has really had a major affect on me he never rushed anyone out the door and took his time to make a diagnosis and if he didnt know he would make sure he found out or refereed to a hospital. The doctors that are left are no where near as kind and caring as he was. Its all about time now . My last 2 visits have not been very helpful in the slightest.. I try not to visit now unless i really need too. I just feel they dont listen and always watching the clock. Bring back Dr mannis . He is so very missed. The patients he now looks after are very very lucky indeed. Can i also add that some receptinist staff are very rude and higher grade staff i have witnessed in the waiting room coming out to front desk really have no people skills very unfortunate manner. Again the appointment system has not been addressed making people wait till midnight to go online to try book is an absolute joke. Some people work and are up before 6am.. unreasonable to ask people to try at that time then most occasions no appointments on.. just what you need right before going to sleep even more stress. I have made this point in the box and its been ignored yet again. All in all the surgery is not managed well at all. Its very sad how the surgery has become to have a bad reputation now. Doctors need to listen more and stop watching the clock. This is peoples lives we are talking about. Lets hope they take note if they want peoples opion of them to change

I feel after a patient of Dr mannis for over 15 years that he was the only doctor in the Murray I would go and see, he took time to listen, never rushed u like the rest, I am absolutely heartbroken to find out he has left, he was my family doctor and seen to all my family and new us inside out, I am devastated and just hope he wasn't pushed out, family doctors are very hard to come by and he was special and wasn't just our doctor he was like a friend to us, I hope one day we as patients find out why he has left, I wish him well and his family and hope one day we can find a gp who has the empathy, understanding and care that he am has shown us, a huge loss to the Murray surgery who have seemed to have lost there way in compassion and care

I am so saddened to learn today that Dr Neil Mannis is no longer at the Murray Practice but has resigned. I can only assume that he was too deeply troubled by the restictions placed upon him that limited his ability to safely and compassionately care for all his patients. He is a truly good man. To my whole family he has been really kind, compassionate and a skilled physician. He always took longer to listen to my issues and as a result he was the only one who did not wrongly diagnose nor wrongly treat my presenting illnesses. He took time out of his own day (Saturday) to visit my mother when she was dying and shed a tear as he explained why he could not stay with her as she passed later that night. Such compassion made me feel safe and cared for, as it did my father, to whom he was so patient and kind as he stuggled with my Mothers loss and his dementia. I DO NOT FEEL SAFE with the NHS anymore. It has broken beyond the point of being trustworthy. It is all-to-easily turning a blind eye to the loss of its very best staff, and so to patient care and it NEVER goes on strike about that. Such a pity. I truly wish Dr Mannis the very best in whatever he has turned his hands to and wherever he may be. May God bless both him and his family with peace and purpose. Thank you so very very much.
