I found Dr Sharma to be very rude and condescending. He was dismissive and appeared to have formed an opinion on me and my mental health before actually meeting me. I left my appointment feeling embarrassed and foolish and my experience with him has made it extremely difficult for me to pursue further support for my mental health. Neelom Sharma deals with some of the most vulnerable people in our community and he should be truly ashamed of the negative impact that he has had on some of us.
Terrible psychiatrist who disregards your issues and feelings. If you end up having him please ask to change psych and don’t be upset by how he invalidates you. You should be ashamed with how you treat patients, your job is to help us not make us feel worse.
Was referred to Dr Sharma years ago and found it to be a stressfull experience from day one.
With severe PTSD and Bipolar Disorder I was in desperate need of help and understanding. Was made to feel like a waste of time and space.
When I confronted certain behaviours presented to me as unhelpful I was given the reasoning "that's an interpretation, very common thinking with your disorder".
It was not an interpretation, I was irritated about a phrase he used. " dont come to me expecting a letter to explain if you hurt someone it just wont happen"
I told him I had violent thoughts. About hurting myself??
Dreaded every appointment for years.
No more "consultants" for me.
"Do no harm"...... hahaha what a laugh.
Best advice for a committed NHS psych.....move!
I have received nothing but excellent care from Dr Sharma for many years. I'm gobsmacked by the negative reviews, because he has never been remotely rude, belittling or implied my mental health issues are my fault.
this man is a disgrace to the discipline of psychiatry. I dared to refuse anti psychotic drugs and faced a barrage of bullying and intimidation culminating in taking a witness to my reluctant next visit. I again underwent the same belittling treatment where he declared I was delusional and tried to diagnose schitzophrenia......all in two visits lasting approx 1hr 20 mins. This I refute on basis 12 months previously his psychologist had declared their services not in their field. I have this letter. I told him in no uncertain terms, via letter what I thought of him and received a grovelling response. When a patient contemplates suicide AFTER visiting this man, he should be called to account
