I called the ILD nurses a couple of times and the phone was answered very quickly. Every nurse I have spoken to has been extremely helpful and tried to answer my questions to the best of their ability. I feel like the team really care and I have been put at ease and made to feel that you are supporting me and giving me direction whereas previous to the referral to you I felt like I was living in a bubble and I didn't really know which way to turn. Dr Leonard was fantastic and really patient and clear in his explanation as to what happens next. I am a relatively new patient to Wythenshawe Hospital but I can honestly say I am totally impressed with my treatment and care to date. I can honestly say I cannot think of any negatives at all. I am extremely grateful to have found such a great team to care for me. Thank you

Nazia has always given me great confidence about treatment in a can expect from the lung centre. All other patients and staff that have met greatly admire her. Her informative authoritative presence on recent zoom patients’ support group meetings was a great boon.

As well as doctor Chaudhuri the whole of the northwest lung unit at Wythenshaw Hospital are amazing. The whole team treat you as an individual and never appear to be in a rush to deal with their next patient and allow you the time to ask questions and nothing appears to be too much trouble for them.

Dr Chaudhuri is a young experienced Consultant with Professional staff who are all good listeners, totally dedicated to help & assist Patients with respiratory problems, are always available with advice whether face to face, by phone or by e mail. This approach gives Patients confidence in their analysis & treatment whether it’s direct or by research methods. The current Pandemic has restricted on site hospital treatment visits but a mobile Spiro unit similar to mobile Cat scan units would help greatly to monitor lung health conditions, assessment of progress or deterioration & give up to date information to Nursing staff. A small mobile unit could be easily disinfected after each use so not to put other Patients at risk, alternatively a “clean “ hospital outbuilding with the same facilities would suffice. Another suggestion would be a Hospital list for Patients use of either a Face Time contact or Wats App contact similar to what GPs surgeries use for one to one discussions.

Hi Thank you for your comments. I am putting in a financial bid to purchase mobile spirometry kit so that we can perform spirometry at home. The trust is also looking at the option of a mobile CT scanner to deal with our back log. Unfortunately the NHS IT Governance doesnt allow us to use face time or whatsapp but we are looking at attend anywhere for this purpose.
