Made emergency appointment on Monday morning for my husband who has multiple chronic health conditions, including Non-healing wounds and appeared to have an infection. Was given an appointment with Dr Hutchings that morning. Arrived early and was called in on time. She introduced herself and asked what the problem was. After explaining she refraised and clarified and proceeded to carry out a few vital sign checks and examined the wound which has never been done by any GP. She then asked about what antibiotics worked for him, asked if we needed to be seen by a nurse, asked if I needed any help and issued infection fighting wound dressings and additional pain relief. Never in the past 5 years or so has ANY GP been this helpful with an infected wound or been so complementary about the standard of care I provide for my husband. My husband came away from the appointment feeling better for being taken seriously and knowing that Dr Hutchings had been so thorough and thoughtful. Goes to show how a decent bed side manner can help a patient. Thank you Dr Hutchings
