Dr Patel has been nothing but kind, gentle and caring since our first meeting. I am under his care having had breast reconstruction 11 months ago. The operation went very well and the care and support I have received from Dr Patel and his team during, after and currently has been exceptional. Dr Patel put me at ease from the get go and continues to do so. Dr Patel continues to maintain his kind, caring nature and commitment to me whilst I still continue my journey with him. I was referred to him from Kettering and I feel very fortunate that I was. I couldn’t be more Thankful to Mr Patel and his team if I tried.

My daughter has been seen by Dr N Patel in clinic twice so far. Our Experience of the care that my daughter has received has been very positive. Dr N Patel was child centred in his approach and spoke to my daughter with ease, my daughter’s voice was listened to and any questions that she had were answered in a child friendly manner. When DR N Patel spoke to my daughter, he took interest in her likes and fears, he considered her as the patient, making her fully apart of conversation instead of directing them at me. My daughter was reassured about the procedure she was having and even visual drawings were shown to explain what they would be doing on the day of surgery. This made my daughter feel more at ease and less anxious about having surgery. My daughter Dr N Patel spoke to us with skill and expertise, all my concerns were explored and next steps were clearly explained. Follow up appointment was quick reassuring, we were given my daughters results and advice was given in terms of things we need to be careful off and things to look out on. We had the opportunity to express what we felt went well and if there was any thing that didn’t go so well. When discussing an issue we faced with my daughter’s stitches, Dr N Patel showed empathy and reassured us that he would look into the matter in hand. Overall we are extremely happy with the care that my daughter has received so far from Dr N Patel and feel reassured that we will be having a follow up in 6months times to ensure, there are no changes.

Thank you so much for everything you’ve done so far. As a patient with context of MH it’s really really appreciated when clinicians are non judgemental in their treatment. Dr Patel has put me at ease every appointment and for that I am so grateful, Whether this is due to training or just an innate kindness, it goes a long way in providing the best quality care.

I first met Mr Patel at the breast reconstruction clinic: at that clinic were a breast surgeon, 2 registrars and a senior specialist nurse. I attended with my daughter (in support) I was nervous and worried, Mr Patel and his colleagues put me at ease with a reassuring attitude and an excellent ability to listen to what I wanted. I had previously been led to believe that the reconstruction I wanted may not be possible. He examined me and reassured me that in actual fact I had two options including my preferred one. I had prepared, with my daughter, a list of questions, I did not need to refer to this as he preempted them all in his explanations indicating to me that he understood my wishes and mindset. At my request he showed me photographs of women who had experienced a similar history & operations to that which I wished for myself. He fetched his laptop (and this occurred several times in clinics) making sure at all times that I was ‘safe’ and chaperoned. At a subsequent clinic and pre operation meeting when planning was taking place Mr Patel, with my permission, involved junior staff explaining and showing us all what would happen to my body. It was gratifying to see & hear him sharing his expertise and teaching others sensitively & with great passion for teaching his skill to others (being a teacher myself I found this impressive) Pre and post operation Mr Patel clearly explained how I was likely to feel and what I needed to do to alleviate discomfort. His registrars are clearly striving to emulate Mr Patel's skill and approach and their after care of me reflected this. At each clinic post op Mr Patel has asked me if I’m happy with outcomes, was I glad I had made the decisions that I had made and was there anything he (he actually said we) could have done better for me? I look forward to subsequent clinics when Mr Patel will offer me further ‘tweaks’ should I wish to have them. In all, including consultants, registrars, nursing, HCAs, physio and occupational health I have had/am having excellent care.

I was seen by Mr Patel and his team 5 minutes earlier than my appointed time, which I was very grateful for. Mr. Patel is extremely kind and patient in explaining to me and addressing all my questions and concerns. He is absolutely thorough and very understanding. Every time I go and have my follow up appointment I feel looked after very well by the best possible hands.
