Dr Nadeem Moghal was the first doctor to fully explain in plain english what (if any) and why i needed further tests on my newborn boy. He listened to my concerns and even offered to go through it all again with my partner. I came out of the appointment with full confidence in what had been explained to me and how to progress further. It was extremely refreshing not be patronised, he was very thoughtful and did not dismiss any of my concerns out of hand. He is a credit to the hospital. Simple things such as greeting patients when they walk into a room and maintaining eye contact should be standard practice. The Doctor that gave my son the Ultrasound that Dr Moghal went onto explain the outcome of did not utter a single word to me nor did he look me in the eye at any point during the procedure. Luckily there was a nurse there who had been brought up with good manners. On another note I also received a letter informing me of the ultrasound date instructing me that i had to give my son 6 glasses of water prior to the screening as he needed a full bladder, that no food should be given after midnight etc etc, this was clearly a letter directed at an adult. It does concern me that basic admin can not be carried out where a letter sent to a newborn is actually relevant to their needs. Luckily for my son I do have common sense and understood the letter to be absolute nonsense, this can not be said for every parent.... I also understand that Dr Nadeem Moghal has been brought in because the George Eliot is in special measures, my experience with the hospital prior to meeting him explains why this is so. Hopefully you will attract more professionals like him.

Our 4 year old daughter had her first appointment with Dr Moghal yesterday and we were extremely impressed. He took the time to speak to my partner and I, as well as talking to our daughter and making her feel comfortable. The appointment was not rushed, Dr Moghal made us feel like he had all the time in the world to speak to us. He asked plenty of questions and gained a real background knowledge to the problems our daughter has been having. He made it very clear that he would do all the investigations possible to help her and everything was explained to us in great detail. It was a relief to finally have some answers and treatment going forward. I only wish all doctor's were this efficient.
