Some weeks into recovering from a serious operation I suffered a blinding Migraine. Flashing Zig Zag lights disturbed vision and blinding headache. While the disturbed vision improved over a day or two it wasn't as it should be and a dull reoccurring headache remained. As I had not suffered Migraine for over thirty years I was concerned it may be something more sinister. I phoned the surgery and they made an emergency appointment with Dr. Narra who after examination arrived at some possible causes and immediately arranged for a practice nurse to perform blood tests and asked me to book an eye test / examination with an optician, which I did. The result was I had good eyesight and nothing sinister. Dr Narra himself phoned me to say the results were clear, but to be sure arranged a CT scan. I was concerned as had lost two friends with brain tumours. Dr Narra again phoned me personally to inform me the scans were clear. By now the headaches had ceased and were probably a post operative effect. I was so impressed that Dr Narra took action immediately on my first visit. Was so knowledgable on conditions that could be the cause without having to refer to books or the internet. He was professional and reassuring. I suppose the term " an excellent bedside manner " is the civilian term. The fact that Dr Narra took immediate action, took the time to phone me personally with the results and kept following through with tests impressed me immensely. While these things may be considered ( Its what G.P.s are paid to do ) It was that Dr Narra treated me as an individual not just another patient, his knowledge, speed of action and the personal phone call that greatly impressed me. His peers and all the staff at Woodview are what make me so glad I am registered there. They have a work ethic that epitomises the best of the health service and Dr. Narra is an example of what every young trainee G.P. should aspire too. Thank you Doctor Narra, and Woodview
