completly ignored my input although I was the patient, gave me a diagnosis after two to three sessions listening only to my parents, (who i no longer talk to, and were paying her a lot of money ), even when I informed her they were not honest about things or I atleast have a different perspective. Prescribed multiple medications that made my mental health worse than ever, resulting in me leaving education before 16. Now I am unmedicated, having seen CAHMS my mental health has improved considerably and I am back in full time education working part time. Although the waiting list for public mental health services is long and they don’t have the best reputation, I would recommend waiting to see CAHMS or finding another private psychiatrist who considers your child’s input, if you genuinley care about helping them.

Dr Joseph Understood from the outset the challenges we were having and through constructive investigation of our history began to identify solutions to enable us to move forward quickly. I have never seen my 12 year old son who had got major social interaction issues along with possible Autism traits be so comfortable discussing personal issues with her, she came down immediately to his level and seemed like he had know her for years he even commented on his way home about how nice she was and easy to talk to. Our minds were put at ease straight away having struggled for years and being told it was all down to attachment and nothing else but in our hearts we knew this was not correct. After many Years of distraught and total frustration we are now moving in the right direction, One we should have taken some time ago, but thank you Dr Minnie for all your hard work and dedication it was a pleasure meeting you. Gary, W.

This doctor saw my child for an ADHD assessment but arrived 30 minutes late. I had to pay for her 90 minute assessment up front. She did not apologise and then finished after an hour saying we had run out of time so I would have to book ( and pay for ) another appointment. She did not seem to know how to work with young children (he was 6 and is pretty bright and eloquent for his age) and was unfriendly and abrupt with him using inappropriately adult language. She was dangerous in that she did not take the relevant heart related family history and made no effort to physically examine him (essential before starting ADHD medicine) and wrote a letter to the GP to start medicines. She then said my son was autistic (he is not) despite not having asked any relevant questions. I would not return to this doctor if you paid me.
