The most unhelpful, unsympathetic medic I have ever met. My appointment with Dr Htut for a Nerve Conduction Study was the singular worst medical experience I have ever had. I would not recommend him to anyone and would actively encourage people to consider finding an alternative neurophysiologist if at all possible.
Dr Htut is one of life's special people. In addition to his medical skills, he has, I feel, superb intuition and sensitivity. The nerve-testing session that he conducted was most interesting, on every level.
I am afraid I really can not recommend to anyone Dr Htut as a neurologist, who I saw at St Helier Hospital. In fact I can honestly say my appointment with him was probably one of the worst consultations I have ever had. I found Dr Htut to be abrupt, unsympathetic, uninterested with absolutely no bedside manner. I had a list of neurological symptoms which he said he couldn't find a neurological cause for. He then told me in no uncertain terms my symptoms were all in my head. That they were psychological and he could refer me to see a Psychiatrist to convince me they were all in my head. His bluntness completely shocked me. Out of all my symptoms there was only really one that he was vaguely interested in, my burning pain. It was for this reason that he decided to refer me for a skin biopsy, which came back in keeping with a Small Fibre Neuropathy.
I also felt his neurological examination of me was rushed and not at all thorough. He didn't arrange for me to have a follow up appointment with him, which was just as well, as I didn't want to go back and see him again anyway. I came away from the appointment upset and close to tears.
I am glad I am now under the care of a different Consultant Neurologist at a different hospital.
