Dr Mike Fabricius is a GP and primary care surgeon, and Clinical Director of Northern Medical Practitioners, based at Blaydon Primary Care Centre. He provides private procedural care including vasectomy, skin surgery (mole, cyst and skin tag removal), and therapeutic joint injections. Mike qualified from the University of London in 2006 and is a member of the Royal College of Surgeons of England and the Royal College of General Practitioners. He worked in urology between 2010 and 2016 as a Specialty Registrar, gaining experience at major UK centres including Plymouth, Bristol and the Freeman Hospital in Newcastle. During this time, his work included both clinical urology and research related to prostate cancer clinical trials at the Northern Institute for Cancer Research. He later completed GP training and became a GP Partner, where he was minor surgery lead and ran an NHS vasectomy service. In 2024, he left GP partnership to focus on his procedural practice at Northern Medical Practitioners. He now focuses on delivering established outpatient surgical procedures within primary care, with an emphasis on safety, clear communication, and continuity of care. He is a member of the Association of Surgeons in Primary Care.

This is the first time I've used private medical care, Dr Mike Fabricius and the team at Northern Medical practitioners were very good. The price initially put doubt in my mind over whether to have the two lesions on my face removed, as it was purely for cosmetic reasons. Now the procedure is over, the wound has healed within a week and I'm really pleased with the outcome. There is no scarring and you would never have known they were there. I wouldn't hesitate to use this service again.

I had a number of warts removed from my face and hand (a Christmas gift from my wife!). Dr Fabricius did the excisions quietly and efficiently assisted by the nursing staff who were both caring and considerate. It was a positive experience and I would thoroughly recommend the team at Northern Medical

I recently attended the clinic for a wart removal procedure by Dr Fabricius. I was extremely nervous prior to the procedure however he was very friendly and explained everything to me in detail and put me at ease. His team were also fantastic at calming my nerves. As the procedure was being performed he explained what he was doing each step of the way. Before and after the procedure the aftercare was explained and I was given the chance to ask any questions that I had. I would highly recommend him and his team to anyone considering a procedure with him.
