Dr Rooney was able to offer me an alternative to general anaesthesia for a gynaecology procedure due to my anxiety around being ‘put out’. I was awake and fully aware of what was being done during the operation, as he and the gynaecologist worked very well together in communicating with me. I was also able to watch on the screen. I was pain free and felt completely safe and cared for throughout. Dr Rooney was entirely attentive and responsive to my pain control and sedation needs throughout. We also had a very nice chat whilst the procedure was being performed! My views were listened to and I felt totally involved in the decision making around the operation and the choice of anaesthesia. This has led to a very positive experience during what had been a worrying time for me. I am also recovering very quickly, which I’m sure is due to the care, attention and use of alternative, but very effective, anaesthesia. I would not hesitate to recommend Dr Rooney to patients and if the need arises in the future he would be my ‘go to’ anaesthetist. Thank you.
