Not one to normally write reviews about medical matters - but my experience with Dr Matt Ginks has been exceptional. Having suffered with arrhythmia for many years - it was time to address the situation. After various consultations on my options with cardiologists on the UAE where I’m based, I was referred to Matt for a consultation for private treatment via the NHS in Oxford, UK. We had a video conference for an hour and a half. During that time I was listened to - medical notes had been thoroughly reviewed in advance - and various options discussed - clearly with pros and cons to all options. Within a week a date was secured for a Catheter ablation for atrial fibrillation procedure and a month later was in for surgery. I found Dr Ginks care and professionalism on the day (and NHS staff) excellent. “ Being in Safe hands “ is a term I do not use freely - but it was very much the feeling I had pre op and post. Day procedure meant I was back at my hotel that evening and started recovery . Fast fwd a few months - I’ve been truly feeling 100% better than before - no symptoms of past issues and life very much looking bright and healthy. Thanks Matt - you’ve made a big impact . Keep up the great work

I had my company medical in March 2022, i was referred to Dr Mathew Ginks for a potential cardiac issue. I managed to get a cancellation and saw him within a few days. He performed an Echocardiogram that day and actually found a potential different issue, as he was so thorough in his examination. He explained the new issue in detail and the possible scenarios both good and bad. He was very clear on the action we needed to take and whilst on holiday wrote me a letter referring me for a CT scan. This CT scan was booked quickly with the help of his team and an appropriate follow up was then scheduled, it was incredibly efficient. Dr Ginks explains things so clearly without any medical jargon, he answered all my questions in a very clear way and no question was too much trouble. He was very caring in what was potentially a very worrying time. We now have a plan to see him in a year. I thoroughly recommend Dr Ginks and found him so great to deal with in every respect.

I have been in the care of Matt for the past four years with my atrial fibrillation. He is the most caring Dr I have ever encountered. His explanations are full and explained in terms which I understand, given that I don’t have a medical or scientific background. I am self funding and he is always mindful of cost. I have absolutely no hesitation whatsoever in recommending him as a cardiologist. He heads up a fabulous team.

As an 87 year old with multiple medical problems awaiting total knee surgery, I recently has a pre-op consultancy with Matthew at the Manor hospital, Oxford to determine whether there were any cardiological issues that needed addressing. His examination was thorough, involving both physical examnation and tests, and I found him both exceptionally personable and talented at offering appropriate explanations of the procedures and processes that was honest about difficulties but untinately reassuring. His report to my local Woodstock surgery was a masterclass in scientific prose and exceptionally thorough in details concering his examination and clear in its recommendations. His social manner is low key and courteous, and his patient interaction was almost collegiate, but modifying the dialect of the tribe to match his audience, in my case somebody curious and wanting to know, but without a scientific background. His expertise shone through the whole process and I would trust him completely. For me what might have been the subject of anxiety became a very positive experience.

Matt put me at ease as soon as I met him and he always made time to listen to my questions giving full and honest answers. He performed a catheter ablation and a subsequent cardioversion which were successful so I have now been in normal sinus rhythm for six weeks. Matt has told me to stay in touch and to contact him if I have any concerns. i will definitely contact Matt if things go wrong again because I have every confidence in his ability to sort out any cardiac problem. Many thanks Matt to you and your team.
