I have recently started seeing Dr Sawiers following a new diagnosis of epilepsy which has obviously had a major impact on my life. At my previous GP practice I always saw a different doctor and didn't ever feel like any of them particularly cared what had happened to me. My experience with Dr Saweirs was completely different; I felt like he took the time to get to know me as an individual and listened to my concerns. From the moment I walked in the room he was kind, caring and compassionate. Having a GP I can trust and rely on has made a huge difference. I don't normally write reviews or give formal feedback but I feel compelled to here as a good GP is like gold dust! I can't recommend him enough, I feel very privileged to have him as my GP.

I think any new diagnosis of this sort of magnitude is a pretty scary and life-changing experience so I'm really pleased I could help you through it - hopefully I can continue to be of help!

Doctor Martin reminds me of my family doctor back home in South Africa. There is, of course, a great difference between paying for medical care, and being granted it for free (relatively), and this is reflected in the attitude and service of many doctors in the UK, more specifically London. Doctor Martin, on the other hand, showed genuine interest and care, which included constant updates, and communications, aswell as a sincerity one usually finds in the private sector. In my eyes he obviously cares greatly for his patients, which is a breath of fresh air, in an economic environment which has put massive strain on the health industry of late. If there were more doctors like him, I believe the faith in our doctors in the UK would improve substantially.

Thank you very much for the positive comments. I think there's little worse than "not knowing" - be that results of tests/scans or whether you've had a referral sent etc. It's a very helpless feeling that no-one likes. It's nice to keep updated and I do try to do that, so I'm pleased you've found that helpful.

At 58 years old I have obviously seen quite my fair share of doctors. I can honestly say that I can't remember more than one or two others who showed the compassion, thoughtfulness and patience that was shown to my by Doctor Saweirs. He became my doctor at a time in my life when my health, both mental as well as physical was very clearly at rock bottom. To say that I now consider myself to be going through the happiest, most rewarding and productive part of my life in almost a decade is in no small way due to the part that Dr Saweirs played in my recovery. There is a lot of talk about holistic treatment, where the patient, while in treatment, is considered as a whole human being rather than a collection of symptoms. I felt that this was an approach used by Dr Saweirs not as a stance or a study but as a natural part of his personality. When one considers the troubles the NHS has been growing through, Dr Martin Saweirs gave the impression that, at least while you were in his company, in his surgery and in his room, the nation's treasured health service was in good health and in good company. Thank you, Doctor,

Incredibly kind words, for which I am very grateful and very humbled. I'm just glad I could be of help, especially during that difficult time of your life, and hopefully I can continue to be.
