Thank you for giving me the chance to review my care under Mr Mark Edwards, at Eastbourne DGH. My care has been a lengthy process, and i am sure there must be many people who have made assessments on my condition, some of whom i have never met. I would like to thank in particular, Mr Edwards, Doctor Johnathon Andrews, and all the other healthcare workers. I would not have come this far without your support. Whatever the long term outcome brings, i cannot fault Mr Edwards or Doctor Andrews in any way. I personally believe this journey still has a long way to reach it's goal, and i remain optimistic for a far better future. I have received the right care, at the right time, which will culminate in a good future, not just for my health benefit, but the reassurance and joy it will bring to my family members. Both Mr Edwards and Dr Andrews are fully aware of my pain levels, and restricted capabilities because of this very severe pain. Traveling to the place of care for surgery is both challenging and stressful because of the extreme pain. They are both aware my care is restricted at this time, to hospitals i can reach. After surgery i am sure i will be able to travel to wherever i need to access the very best healthcare. Dr Andrews has in particular, been very pro-active in assisting my traveling plans, to where i need to be. Even with their care, i need to be realistic in saying the journey to The Royal Sussex Hospital in Brighton, will be very challenging to a serious pain sufferer. It is some 15 miles from where i reside, and should take around 45 minutes. Although i would love to explore alternative treatments at The Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital in Stanmore, it is some 200 miles on a round journey, on some of the busiest roads in the world, (M23) (M25). The round journey would take many hours. As Dr Cohen at Stanmore hospital said in her last assessment, "Mr Blackman can only access care, local to where he resides, at this time". Given the right care i know i will be able to reach the goals of returning to full-time work with my former employer, The London Fire and Emergency Planning Authority. I would like to believe i could make some of my rehabilitation at a London Hospital, as a pre-curser to my return to work in the London area? I promise i will always try my very best, and remain fully focused under your guidance and instructions. Thank you so much for your care. You have offered me a future, i would not have if you hadn't given me the right support and healthcare. ☆☆☆☆☆'s all round. Mr Peter Blackman.

Following recommendation from my Renal Doctor, Dr .F.Ghalli,I visited the Vascular Surgery Clinic,EDGH. on the 12th May 2020,with a view to see if an examination could reveal the reason behind pains experienced in my thigh muscles and spreading downwards. After the shortest of delays I was seen by Dr .Edwards who I found to be both friendly and prepared to listen carefully to my description of the problems which I was encountering. Following on from a very thorough examination he has now written to my local G.P. Dr. Bayles, to keep him ad vised and also arranged for further surveillance by the Vascular Assessment Unit, which has now actually been carried out. Regardless of the what the final results reveal I would like record my appreciation of Dr.Edwards thoroughness and the efficiency of the Nurses. We are indeed very fortunate to have in this area such an excellent hospital which is staffed by such friendly and caring staff. Thank you, Yours sincerely, E.W.A.Edgar

Very poor correspondence after initial consultation, waited months to get my MRI results back, which he informed me of in a very blunt email.

Now professor Edwards. He is such a fantastic neurologist who got to the bottom of my problem, gave his treatment plan, listened and was caring throughout.
