I was saddened and shocked to hear that the Old Dispensary is having to merge with the Quarter Jack Surgery after an inspection back in 2023. I found Dr Deverell to be most caring, helpful and understanding. I always knew that if I was waiting a little longer for an appointment due to the needs of a patient, it was the same treatment he would give to me if I needed a little longer than the allocated ten minute slot. He always explained your condition to you in layman's terms if that was required and would only prescribe when necessary. I trusted him completely and don’t want to have to now re-build trust with another doctor. I wish him all the best with his early retirement and blame the medical inspection team for this great loss… Liz Wesley-Barker

Dr Deverell is a compassionate and understanding GP he takes the time to listen to me. Always able to get an appointment, calls when he says he will. Just the best GP I have ever had

I, as a working colleague have worked with Dr Deverell for many years as part of the Multidisciplinary Team. On every occasion as I can recall, he is extremely kind, organised, makes immediate decisions, proactive and an absolute expert in his medical field. I visit a lot of his patients on a daily basis and only hear superb comments about his practice and bedside manner. Wimborne is extremely lucky to have a GP so dedicated to his profession.

Not a great doctor. He is extremely unorganised, and often runs very very late for seemingly no apparent reason. For example, if one patient comes out of his office, it might well be another 15 minutes before the next one comes in. He's reasonably good at helping if he can see the physical problem that you have (Hives for example). However, if it is something that is invisible, he is less sympathetic, usually dismissing it as a virus with very little empathy at all.

An exceptional doctor. Very well organised, efficient, listens with empathy, and takes appropriate action. Has visited me at home unasked after a hospital admission. Could not ask for anything more.
