Thank you for putting my mind at rest during a particular uncertain time. You really listened to every aspect of my condition and gave me great advice to treat my symptoms. Really understanding and empathic - thank you again!

This is the best surgery i have ever been registered with, all staff; receptionists, nurses and Drs are brilliant. Approachable, polite, caring and most importantly efficient. I have never had to wait too long for appointments and have always seen my own Dr. People always try to help, even if i do something daft like forgetting to order a prescription in time. I know that GPs surgeries are under enormous pressure, but you wouldn't know it from the service you get here.

I saw Dr Slattery today as my doctor was unavailable. She was lovely, just what you need form a GP.

She is respectful and conscientious

Dr Slattery was attentive and helpful when I called in to explain a sudden case of extremely painful abdominal cramps, and recommended an over-the-counter painkiller that worked well. She offered an emergency appointment the same evening, and when I arrived experiencing severe pain she hastened to make time to see me. She took the condition seriously and made sure to rule out any acute threatening condition. She and the Preston Park Surgery in general seem to be under strain to serve all of their patients, and I am not impressed in general with the way the NHS is organised at the GP level, in comparison to the way the health system is organised in the Netherlands, where I lived for the previous four years. But Dr Slattery is a fine doctor whom I'd be happy to recommend and I think the problems mainly lie in the under-resourcing and inefficient organisation of the NHS as a whole, rather than with hardworking individual doctors.

Dr Slattery is one of the two most conscientious and sensitive doctors I've ever had. While being totally professional, she is honest, warm and caring, and encourages me to be an expert on my own health - no talking down or superiority. Wish every GP were this good!

Dr Slattery is one of the best Doctors i have ever had. I always feel listened to and consulted. She takes time to explain things properly. She is completely thorough too. I can't recommend her highly enough.

I have been registered with Preston Park Surgery since 2002 when I moved to Brighton. There have been many changes and increasing strains on the NHS within these times. I have seen all the doctors within the practice for myself or my son at some point and have found everyone helpful, kind, and understanding despite these pressures. Due to the complicated nature of a chronic condition that Dr Slattery monitors I now tend to see her more so than others. Dr Slattery has seen me through some of the worst, toughest times of my life and has been kind, caring, non judgmental and supportive without fail. Despite I imagine a mountain of paperwork and huge demands Dr Slattery never makes you feel hurried or rushed always taking the time to explain things fully. The epitome of what you would want from your GP.

My experience at Preston Park Surgery is very good. The receptionists are caring and helpful and try to give you a convenient appointment, even when very busy. My doctor Dr Maria Slattery always listens and I feel able to ask her advice, in a unhurried appointment. Should she not be available I am happy to see another doctor in this very good practice.
