I was lucky to have Dr Lisa Sharky as part of my transplant team at Addenbrookes hospital. She has so much empathy, compassion and support for her patients and always found time to discuss every detail of medical interventions, medication and any other questions asked. Dr Sharky goes above and beyond for her patients and their families and has a wonderful sense of humour.
Anyone fortunate to have Dr Sharky as their consultant is going to experience the exceptional medical and personal care which I received. Nothing was ever too much trouble for her and she will be sorely missed at Addenbrookes.
She is a real breath of fresh air. Put me at ease and has been very thorough trying to get me a diagnosis. A very good doctor who I would happily recommend to anyone.
In the short amount of time I’ve been under Dr Sharkey she has helped me in many ways with with my treatment which many hospitals wouldn’t offer. She is a lovely consultant, very approachable and friendly, I’ve felt very at ease regarding my treatments. When I’ve had appointments I’ve always felt listened to and never rushed, I can always get hold of her if I need between appointments. She always follows up anything mentioned during appointments and really good liaising with my GP
Most importantly I’ve had my fair share of bad experiences with other doctors at the hospital but she has really restored hope and trust back.
Guttered to be told she is leaving soon.
I have been lucky enough to be under the care of Dr Sharkey for many years and she has always been very supportive and quick to respond to any queries I may have. I am very sorry to hear that she is leaving Addenbrookes.
I would without hesitation recommend Dr Sharkey to anyone wanting a doctor who delivers an extremely high standard of care. She is able to think laterally on a slightly more unusual case such as mine, and draw from her vast knowledge and expertise.
She has made sure I can access the resources I need. She has a good ability to consider the 'whole person' and converse and coordinate between various departments and other consultants/professionals. She listened to my unspecific symptoms (where others were dismissive) and persevered to enable me to get further diagnosis for a progressive disease (outside of her area) that is now being treated earlier than it would have been. She considers my issues in other areas when dealing with my gastro issues which is important to me. She explains everything to a depth and level that is suitable to my level of understanding.
Her communication to me as a patient is clear, concise and reassuring. Whilst being honest, managing my expectations and showing empathy, her communication style allows me to feel I can trust her to ensure I get the correct care and to help improve my quality of life in the areas that matter to me.
