My mother was seen by Dr Read in the mental health team. She was kind, on the ball and consulted mum and us at every step. Mum surprisingly agreed with the treatment! I think my mother was really happy that she did not have to tell her story all over again as she usually has to do with someone new, and Dr Read told her details from her past, which immediately gave her confidence. She is often rude and we were grateful that the doctor dealt with this with humour. She gave us letters that were detailed each time, so we managed to keep track of what has happened and what is happening next in the chaos of many appointments everywhere. I am thankful to have met her and I will say that our experience with mental health services before we met her has not been great. Some of the people that come and visit my mother really do not have anything helpful to offer.

I have been working with Dr Read for few years, during this period I found her highly professional and committed to her job; she is one of the key players in the team and also has excellent leadership skills which have made her popular among her colleagues. Dr Read is conscientious colleague; she shows great enthusiasm for her patients and colleagues. She has supported her colleagues during their difficult time in their career .

Once concerns picked up, several assessments took place very promptly, it was acknowledged that I was nervous and anxious and those who saw me tried to be re-assuring, although knowing outcome might not be what I wanted.
