Never had any issues with the doctors and medical proffesionals at this GP's, they are great. I couldn't be happy once I am in and seeing someone. However the reception and getting past them is another story. They have always been a struggle and since covid it's got ridiculous to the point I feel the need to write this up. Most recently my grandad who is in his mid 80s has terminal cancer and very immobile was almost shouted at for walking into the waiting room to sit down. Now, we've had this situation with the waiting room for a while. If you need to keep people at the door, provide some seating. Other wise your practice is no longer accessible surely? My Nan who was with him in the end shouted back as Grandad being deaf and frankly past caring as he can't keep up with the rules due to a lack of retention anyway just carried on relatively unconcerned. But myself waiting in the car saw numerous elderly and people with mobility issues waiting and sometimes outside as the cue got longer. I really think as this has gone on so long, some seating or accomodating people having to wait to go in should have been thought of. If not, the receptionist could at least consider who they have in front of them. So if an obviously elderly and infirm person comes and is not able to even take direction, don't proceed to chase after shouting or be surprised / annoyed if they decide to ignore the guidelines and sit themselves down. This was a very disappointing situation that was just a demonstration of how the receptionists as a whole seem to behave towards their role and make accessing the other wise great health proffesionals at the surgery, very difficult. Even pre covid, this was the case but now more so of course.
