Dr Leaver responded within a very short time to an email from me about a distressing problem. He told me he had arranged for a prescription to be emailed to my local pharmacy. I phoned the pharmacy right away. The prescription came through while we were talking. I collected the medication shortly afterwards. Only three or four hours from start to finish

A GP of exceptional intelligence, Dr Leaver keeps up with and understands the academic literature of relevance to his work. He is a quite extraordinary clinician -- and a witty and gentle doctor. It is a privilege to be cared for by this superb health-care professional.

What can I add to the above 3 x 5 stars? My thanks. Couldn't be better.

Dr Leaver listens, explains, and often answers important questions that I hadn't been able to formulate for myself. Above all, for this friendly doctor, the patient is first and foremost a person. He never looks at his watch. He responds swiftly and fully to email questions or anxieties.

Profile

I was a full time GP from 1996 (reduced to 3/4 time when I became Associate Director of Pre-clinical Studies in 2017) and also involved in teaching medical students since 2000, particularly at Green Templeton College (since 2004) where I am the Senior Doll Tutorial Fellow in charge of the GTC medical teaching programme for about 100 students. As College Doctors to various colleges my practice has particular interests in university students and their medical problems; but students are only 30% of our list and we aim to be good generalists across all areas of medicine. Please also bear in mind there are two separate practices at Jericho HC (I work with Drs O'Shea, Lambert and others), the other practice is 'Observatory medical Practice')- sometimes people have mixed us up. Also we are on the Radcliffe Observatory Quarter (since 2012) adjacent to Walton Street, whereas Googlemaps and indeed this website keep directing people to our old site about 200m away on the corner of Cranham Street.
