I have been extremely fortunate to have previously been a private patient of Dr Rifkin. I cannot express how crucial and invaluable his care has been in my life. He's honestly saved my life several times and has always gone above and beyond to help his patients, more than any other doctor I have ever come across and I have seen many over the 20 years I have been trying to manage my mental health disorder. He's genuinely invested in the care and wellbeing of his patients, becoming an invaluable ally in treating and supporting you through your illness. He's always been extremely emphatic and kind to his patients and as such, it's always felt safe to open up about your mental health issues to him, crucially even when you are in a very dark place. Whilst I was under his care, he continually kept informed and up to date (even ahead), of promising new emerging treatments to manage mental health disorders, which is immeasurably helpful and gives life saving hope to you when older psychiatric medications and treatments have failed to help you or have gradually worn off in effectiveness. This open mindedness and willingness to keep up with the new changes, discoveries and advances in different types of treatment along side his sincere kindess and ease to express your difficulties to him are beyond helpful. To find a doctor that embodies all of these qualities is like finding a needle in a haystack. As we now say about other doctors, 'They're not a Rifkin' ,he's one in a billion. I will forever be eternerly grateful to Dr Rifkin.
Dr Larry Rifkin is a life saver. He is empathic, he sincerely cares. He is astute, lends enlightenment and empowers the people he supports.
Larry was an anchor in the roughest of waves that thrashed me on the jagged rocks of my savage soul. A balm when I was sorrowful. A believer in my ability to recover health when I despaired. A trumpeter of my successes. And someone who enabled me to learn I could tolerate the downs, helped remind me the one constant is change, that I wouldn't languish in the lowlands forever, nor would I have to pendulum swing. That I could balance myself and when I stumbled, recover my balance once more.
My thanks to Larry.
I am a student at a local university in London. Dr. Rifkin not only is a great listener, but he also offers the right kind of advice/support to his patients. He makes me see the world and myself differently, while at the same time encouraging me to receive the right treatment from different people. Dr. Rifkin and his team has left a positive impact on my life, and he is one of the few people whom I will forever be grateful for.
He was likeable, listened well and gave very supportive back-up via email and 'phone. He was honest and kind. My only reservation is that he wasn't dynamic enough for us but, although we consulted him privately, we were conducting our conversation in the light of treatment within the NHS so maybe that's understandable.
