A doctor of the 'old school', ie someone who really makes you feel he has time to listen, who works with you instead of patronising you. That's not to say that he won't tell you if he doesn't agree - merely that he actually listens and educates, if appropriate. He enables you to participate in your own healthcare. Always has the patient's best interests at heart, not the system's. Caring and concise. In short, everything I want in my GP.
