I have nothing but respect for this doctor. From the outset he has been honest, reliable and always available to answer questions. He takes a real interest in what information you disclose.

I am 1 year into treatment for adenocarcinoma of the right lung. Fortunately for me I was selected to participate in the pembrolizumab aka keytruyda immunotherapy two year course of treatment. After 20 treatments my lung mass has shrunk considerably from 10.5 cm all thanks to Dr K Dhinakaran and his medical team. I am thankful that I have been so fortunate to have such an excellent consultant for my oncologist. He is first class.

I have lung cancer and am a patient under the care of Dr Dhinakaran . After only a few weeks I am feeling that I am absolutely flying it as I am being treated by the latest immuno-therapy drug and am positive that the next CT scan will show a great improvement in my condition. The initial dose of RT made some interesting improvements. I have to thank this kind man for my well-being and knowing how to treat me. My favourite saying is that I am in a safe pair of hands and when I come out of meeting with Dr Dhinakaran I know that I have found them. At the moment I feel 70 not my chronological one of 81. I can't wait to feel 65 again who knows the way I am going I might well do in 6 months.

We told him that the surgeon had said no radiotherapy for my dad but he proceeds to do so after full lung surgery. Our consultant said no radio as it would burn through the stump of the lung . But we trusted dheankaran and guess what it burnt through the lung stump . My dad suffered greatly under the care of this man with no explanation. We suffered weeks of chemotherapy at times told it was working. My dad had 3/4 blood transfusions for 3 hours at a time . I so wished we had asked for a second oncologist opinion .

Dr Dhinakaran oncology Department. The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS trust. My name is Diana I am a 61 year old lady and I had breast cancer in 2007 from which I had recovered. Unfortunately I was diagnosed with lung cancer and brain metastases in January 2014 and was given a prognosis of only 3 weeks survival. I was placed under the care of Dr Dhinakaran, a bronchoscopy biopsy was arranged and the tissue sent to the genealogy lab at Birmingham. The transmutation proved positive large cell carcinoma. Dr Dhinakaran recommended whole brain radiation and placed me on a bio chemotherapy called Iressa or gefitinib. Due to this treatment I have undergone 24 cycles of 28 days each. Dr Dhinakaran has not only given first-class treatment but has constantly tried to get new treatments allocated for me including referrals to the Christie at Manchester where I was allowed to be considered for clinical trials when stable and also to the Queen Elizabeth at Birmingham to undergo CyberKnife treatment in an attempt to eradicate my brain tumours via extremely focused non-whole brain radiation therapy. Whilst waiting for clinical trials I have had 4 sessions of chemotherapy to keep my condition stable so I can remain eligible for further trials. Dr Dhinakaran has has now referred me to Prof Middleton at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital at Birmingham in concert with the Christie at Manchester hopefully to participate in the latest clinical trials in an attempt to enhance and prolong my life. Due to Dr Dhinakaran's clinical acumen and diligence I have survived nearly 2 and a half years rather than the 3 weeks at onset. I found him to be empathic, compassionate, understanding, and always gave me the time needed at consultation. He always explained how my condition was affecting me and what was available to me under the NHS. If you are like me facing death but wanting a little longer with your family I can fully recommend Dr Dhinakaran as your oncologist as without him I would be just a memory. I am still fighting cancer with this man in my corner.
