I've had T1D for 35 years and met Dr Mohammed for three first time today. My experience with consultants has historically been very disappointing and not tailored to my requirements. Dr Mohammed listened intently, understood my position and helped work out a road map specific to me. I cannot describe how affirming it was to meet with him and to feel, not only were my challenges listened to, but a solution and road map was developed between us to meet my goals, in a way that works for me. The guy can never get paid enough. Incredible.

Dr Mohammed has helped me on a long journey through illness to diagnosis , ups and downs and steps forwards and back in managing my endocrine condition. He is an expert in his field, takes the time to listen to you and showed empathy and understanding when other medical staff did not. Highly recommended - 5 stars! If only there were more doctors like him we would have a better NHS!

I was referred to Dr Mohammed after various examinations and investigations by Gastroenterology to determine reason for unexplained weight loss, change in bowel habits and persistent and increasing tiredness. At our first meeting I was impressed by his friendly but professional manner. I was also impressed that he treated me as a reasonably intelligent adult (not always the case!) After the initial consultation he referred me for an abdominal scan and a special blood test (short Synacthen test). Both these were arranged in short order and two days after the scan he called me in to his office and told me the radiologist had found a large "mass" on my right kidney. He was straightforward with the information but also kind, understanding and supportive. He referred me immediately to a Urologist who I saw within 10 days and I am having a radical nephrectomy tomorrow at Castle Hill Hospital, Hull. I have been investigated with regards to my symptoms over about 6 months. Everyone I have come in to contact with at HEY have been excellent and I feel I have had great and very speedy care. However, Dr Mohammed has been especially kind and helpful at what you can imagine is a difficult time. I especially appreciate that he took the time to see me at short notice, give me the news in person and then had time to discuss any issues and listen to my concern. He could have simply picked up the phone and called me with the news; but no, he took the time and effort to speak to me face to face and treat me with care and consideration - for this I am very, very grateful. I am now under the care of the urologist and may not meet Dr Mohammed again but I want to place on record my thanks and appreciation for going that little bit extra for me.

Dr Mohammed was the only one who actually knew that diabetes could lead to coeliac disease and actually sent me for a test even though I had been telling other doctors that I was not able to get up, was anaemic and had all other symptoms associated with this illness. I am really grateful that he was my physician and cannot recommend him highly enough

We found Dr Mohammed to be very caring and a good listener. He explained everything about my condition and the options that were in place should they be necessary. This was my first appointment at the Endocrinology Unit and found all staff very kind and efficient. I felt very reassured with the Consultation as a whole. Thank you
