Listens carefully. Doesn't dismiss your symptoms, as psychological or as psychosomatic, down to anxiety or depression. Doesn't try to dismiss your symptoms as normal or nothing to worry about, when they're not normal. Isn't patronising. Does her job as gateway to referrals, diagnostics and treatment....instead of trying to save the government money but dismissing patients' symptoms and offering cheapest option, but that isn't as helpful/effective. If she's not sure about something, she doesn't just leave it, she finds out. Receptive to looking at new research. Always makes sure that you're satisfied at the end of the consultation. A compassionate, genuinely good doctor.
