I was just 20 weeks pregnant with my 2nd baby. The radiographer could not detect an artery in my son's heart but said it could be his size and I was to come back in two weeks. At this stage I met Dr Julian Eason. I had not told my husband at this stage as how could there not be a artery in a heart. (I took my friend, as I knew nothing of Congenital Heart Disease) He scanned my babies heart and said there was something wrong. We arranged to see him the next day this time with my husband. The next day Julian showed us n screan how he knew something was wrong and he instantly contacted Great Ormond Street hospital (GOSH) and made us an appoint tjust 2 days later. I later had a amniocentesis test done by him too, I was scared stiff but felt nothing. My son was born with a major heart defect operated on at 28 hours old. At 10 months old, my son collapsed. He was taken to accident and emergency. I followed but my husband got there before me, Julian said to my husband "what is wrong with your son's heart" My husband in panic said ask Dr Eason he know's. Dr Eason said " I am Dr Eason" I got there shortly after, by which time Dr Eason had it all under control and was in touch with GOSH. Being one step ahead of my son at all time. 1 breath per minute and 10% saturations levels, he shouldn't have survived. My son would have died at the N&N if it wasn't for the very quick thinking of Julian Eason. My son went on and had more life saving heart surgery at GOSH. My son is now 14. I will never forget the work Dr Eason done during my pregnancy for me and at that very crucial time in my son's life. Not only does my son have congential heart disease, he also has a syndrome, which Julian Eason explained very well to me. I can not say one negative word against this man, except he left my local to go onto greater things.
