I recently had a full knee replacement at the BMI Hospital at Bury St Edmunds and the anaesthetist was Dr Jonathan Nicholson. He was kind and courteous when explaining the advantages of a spinal injection - I had never had one before - and when I arrived at the operating theatre the whole anaesthetic procedure was achieved quietly and competently. Dr Nicholson came to see me later that day and I am happy to report that I am making a good recovery, free of the awful tiredness and nausea I have felt after a General Anaesthetic.

I recently had a partial knee replacement at the BMI hospital in Bury St Edmonds, Suffolk. Dr Jonathan Nicholson came tothe ward to see me and explained to me the new system they were using when doing knee replacements.I believe this was called a nerve block.It entailed having an injection into the back which numbed my body from the waste down.After havng this I then had the surgery on my knee. When the surgery was complete I was taken to the recovery area for about fifteen minutes and then returned to the ward.Ittook a little while for the numbness to go but afterwards I had no after effects at all and I would certainly recommend this system to anyone having knee surgery

i went into hospital to have an operation on my foot and had dr nicholson look after me prior, during and after my operation. he came to see me before my op to explain what was going to happen before i went into the operating theatre and afterwards and that he felt that giving me an injection to numb my leg from my knee downwards would make me feel more comfortable and pain free which helped enormously. he was very friendly throughout and would not have any hesitation of recommending him to anyone. i must add that i have had quite a few operations and recovering from the anaesthetic on this operation was the best i have been. thankyou.
