From the moment I met Dr Jonathan Hughes he exuded a quiet confidence allaying my fears and treating me with respect and compassion even when I was overtly wobbly.
Not only did he pacify with patience and kindness on a busy morning of operations, he went on to perform brilliant surgery and came round personally with his fellow surgeons to explain what he had done and give advice. And he delivered my results with compassion and empathy.
He has a great team around him that serve to support his brilliance.
As a journalist with a cynical disposition I cannot praise this man enough.
