Seen at short notice and was treated with care and respect.
Went to see him a few years ago when I was struggling with depression (and suicidal thoughts though I didn’t mention this in the appointment as I was embarrassed). Dr Marsden told me he didn’t think I was trying hard enough to be happy.
Have refused to see male doctors since as the experience had such a negative impact on my mental health. Have heard positive things about him from older members of my family so I’m sure he’s nice enough, seems to be lacking basic knowledge around mental health conditions though.
First consultation with Dr Marsden, he listened, responded calmly and helped me focus on my problem.
I have only seen Dr Marsden a few times, but on each occasion he has been very patient as well as being sympathetic and understanding. I am 75 and have had a lot of health issues, but I feel that he is really caring and concerned about his patients, and nothing appears to be a bother for him. As GPs have a heavy workload its very refreshing to find one who actually cares, and wants to improve the patients life. Its only a shame that he works in a very busy practice which is understaffed, so waiting times to see him are long. I wish all GPs had the same attitude, as patients would feel so much better knowing they were in good hands
