Dr Tyrrell qualified from St George’s Hospital Medical School in 2000. Prior to beginning his postgraduate training in anaesthetics and intensive care he spent time working in various medical specialties, including A&E, in both the UK and Australia. He trained in anaesthetics in the Wessex deanery, primarily at Southampton, Bournemouth, Poole and Dorchester hospitals. He has been a consultant anaesthetist at Yeovil since 2013. His professional interests include regional anaesthesia, acute pain and intensive care. Amongst other qualifications he holds the European Diploma for Regional Anaesthesia. Outside of work he enjoys cycling, and spending time with his wife and three boys.
