I am the carer of a long term sick patient. I have no reason to believe Dr Wilson doesn't know her medicine, but recently on several occasions when trying to have a conversation with her I am very aware I am being a nuisance & wasting her precious time. We don't book Appts and try to use the surgery sensibly. I do now try to avoid her, but I just wish she'd communicate with less superiority. I know she's busy & I know it's a hard job. I consider that every time I approach the surgery (generally a very good surgery). My job is hard too.
I very recently had 2 stents fitted. I telephoned this morning at 9.20 am with issues relating to breathlessness, not expecting to be seen for a few days at least. However, by 11.40 am I was explaining my issues to Dr Wilson. She listened attentively, put me at ease, thoroughly examined me and then put a plan together which she explained clearly. I left feeling in good hands and very much reassured.
I have lived in various areas of the UK in the past 60 years. In that time (with 4 children) we have visited more than a dozen different GP surgeries. I can honestly say that the Village Medical Centre is one of the best. It cannot be easy for GP's running their practices these days with so much additional pressure being put upon them. The VMC at Great Denham does it very well indeed.
Dr Wiilson listened and heard what I was saying to her about several problems, asked me some questions and answered my questions clearly. She then suggested an appropriate course of action. My experience of her over several years has always been of a competent professional who takes seriously whatever is said and asks appropriate questions. She is a doctor in whom I would have total confidence. She is quietly friendly and puts one at ease straight away.
