My advice would be find another neurologist. Initial phone consultation ok, requested eeg and put on anti seizure drugs that were going to be reviewed in 10 weeks. Months later no review of medication that no longer works, six weeks after eeg no results and haven’t even had a response even after going through pals. Terrible health care.

In my opinion, Ms Quirk did not investigate my chronic neuropathic pain leading to yet another year of suffering. After visiting several other doctors/specialists after seeing her, i went back to my GP and asked for an MRI on my calf, which on reflection, Ms Quirk should have done when i went to see her a year or so ago. I was diagnosed with a Schwannoma ( A benign tumor) on the tibial nerve, which has been the cause of my pain for the last 8 yrs. I will have surgery to remove this. Being a Neurologist, i feel that would have been the first suggestion if she wasn't sure of my symptoms instead of sending me away with a prescription for Pregabalin (which i didn't take because of the horrendous side effects) I feel very let down, and feel i wasn't listened to or my pain taken seriously.
