This doctor is a credit to the surgery, every time I have had a appointment he has been spot on with the diagnose.. The man is a medical Marvel to say the least ! So despite all the bad reviews on here about the phones and receptionist , it's still a FREE SERVICE and they all do a great job in northdown surgery it spotlessly clean the waiting area has just been recently up dated even though it was fine before there

When we moved to Cliftonville on our retirement we signed up at the Northdown Surgery and Dr. J. Ryder became our GP and continued in that roll until his retirement. He is a very caring doctor and time was never an issue, he left no stone unturned until he was completely satisfied he had sorted out any problems that you brought to his attention. Dr. Ryder's bedside manner was second to none, explained everything in great detail and if he couldn't solve the problem himself then Dr. Ryder would send you to hospital when necessary for further investigation. IN my opinion, Doc JE Ryder is the Best. I realise he cannot keep going forever, but he is one of the 'old' school. Caring, compassionate, prepared to listen. Not afraid to admit if he is not sure about new methods or medication. He has been my GP for a long long time. Be a sad day when he finally, totally retires. He could teach the younger Docs a lot. And they would benefit by being more 'human'
