I cannot say anything negative about Dr Foley. She is a good listener and truly cares for her patients with sensible suggestions and advice. Dr Foley shows great compassion for people, which is such an important asset as a consultant. What I like about Dr Foley is that she will offer you advice about available treatment that can be offered to her patients. She will then leave you with time to think about it rather than make any hasty decisions that you are not comfortable with. As a patient it's important that you are ready for any new medications (unless, of course emergency situations) as it takes time to adjust to new ways such as learning to self inject. It may seem a small thing but psychologically it can be quite a lot to take on board. Dr Foley is a wonderful consultant, she has helped me in lots of different ways, so many times. The rheumatology team at Queen Mary's and Kingston hospital would be lost without her. And so would I.

Dr. Foley considers the whole patient, not just the malfunctioning body parts. She is human and humane, knowledgeable, realistic, and pragmatic. I have learned a lot from Dr. Foley in ways that go beyond a perfunctory doctor-patient relationship. She has repeatedly challenged me to reconsider my thinking about medical options for managing the physical and psychological load of living with a chronic, painful, and debilitating disease. I don't always agree with her, sometimes I walk away feeling angry and frustrated, but I respect her so deeply that I continue to mull over her points, sometimes for months. I have grown as a result and feel lucky that she is my doctor.
