Dr Austera is always kind and listens to me when I come in. He is never patronising or laughs at me, and he always seems to remember me and check up on things we last spoke about, I definitely agree that he is a calming influence! He makes it easier to speak up about embarrassing problems or worries I may have. Am always sad when I go to walk in durgery and he isn't there!

He listens very carefully to your description of your symptoms and discusses with you what the dia diagnosis is. If he isn't sure he will say so and suggest a consultation with specialist in that area. He always takes as much time as necessary in order to make a thorough and informed diagnosis of the problem.

Is not just caring and friendly but is a great GP. He is not afraid to admit he doesn't have a solution to your problems straight away and therefore it is evident a lot of thought goes into his treatment plan. I have known GPs that will try to fob you off with the generic and less effective treatment which does more harm than good as they ignore side effects. Dr.Austera is open to many theories as to why a patient experiences a problem and is not afraid to experiment to find out if an alternative treatment suits the individual best.
