I was under Dr. James Andrens care for three months whilst suffering from labyrinthitis, and chest pains. I cannot express strongly enough what an incredible doctor James was to me. From our first meeting he was consistently reassuring, professional, empathetic, kind, and went beyond the call of duty from start to finish. I saw James many times over three months and he always showed genuine interest and care, he listened to my concerns, and explained himself very clearly. It was easy to feel relaxed, open, and honest around him. He was incredibly patient and thorough in his diagnoses. He booked a number of tests and prescribed necessary and helpful medicines. He continued to monitor my recovery over the months, and would be quick to contact me with results from tests. I felt safe in Dr Andren's hands, trusted him implicitly, and would greatly recommend him. James, thank you for everything. You were an exceptional doctor to me during a very rough time.

We saw James in Epsom A&E at 4.30am one morning as my daughter had been suffering with chest pains for 24 hours and they had woken her up. My daughter is 16 and it was her first visit to A&E with an undiagnosed problem. Naturally she was scared. James immediately put her at ease, relating to her age with talk of phones and apps etc. They talked about her AS level exams and that she was taking Biology and Chemistry, wanting to have a career in the medical profession. He was calm, self assured and in control. He arranged for her to have an ECG which showed there was nothing seriously wrong with her and took a blood sample. My daughter is scared of needles and he was very gentle but hit a valve in the vein so wisely chose to continue rather than stab her again. She trusted him completely and was calm. He exhausted every avenue trying to find the source of her pains and reassured her that she would be ok. After agreeing that there was not "emergency" he referred us to our GP and it was detected that she had a resolving infection and she was prescribed antibiotics, only detected with a urine test which took 24 hours. James had tested her urine for the immediate signs but the infection had to be detected in the lab. He did all he could for us. I can't thank him enough.

I was very nervous & worried, Dr Andren made me feel at ease and relaxed, which considering I was at hospital in A & E is pretty good going! He was very thorough with his tests and examinations.

I went Epsom Hospital suffering with chest and stomach pain. I was seen by Dr James Andren who was very helpful, and made me feel at ease. He covered all aspects of what they needed to do i.e. x rays ,E.C.G, blood tests etc.. All tests were carried out quickly and explained clearly. I feel that all in all I was treated very well and feel that I was in good hands. My treatment is still on going and other procedures still need to be carried out but my experience at Epsom Hospital was very good.

Doctor Andren attended to me following a nasty fall in which I damaged my left hand. Despite the ghastly hour, he was very thorough and managed my expectations very well regarding my injury. He made time to talk and this made for a pleasant experience.
