I am under Dr Hennig for 9 years. He is one of the kindest, careerist and friendliest Doctors I have ever had in my life. I have a rare condition called Gorham disease, it's a bone-vanishing disease. It's a scary and unknown condition but he is always able to make me calm and answer all my worries. I can not thank him enough for the amount of effort that he put into my life.

I am writing this on behalf of our elder son who passed away on 2nd October 2021. He was treated at the Hogarth Oncology ward by Dr Hennig and his team for nearly 2 ½ years for Ewing’s Sarcoma. During this period, he underwent several vigorous chemotherapy and radiotherapy sessions, a nephrectomy and two stem cell transplants. Through these, we saw glimmers of hope of cancer receding and disappearing. We believe the cancer was defeated twice with all the treatments that he had but it returned for the third time to end his suffering and his life, 2 months before his 20th birthday. We always talk about how lucky we were to get referred to Nottingham City Hospital out of nowhere which led us to meet Dr Hennig and his team. Dr Hennig made every effort to prolong my son’s life given it is a non-curable cancer. By the time my son was diagnosed first, the cancer had spread to his spine from his left kidney. Dr Hennig would always explain all those complex conditions very clearly to us keeping the family fully informed of each and every development. Dr Hennig is kind, caring and very professional. He was always available, night and day to support, treat and put our devastated minds at ease. His dedication and commitment in performing his duties under such stress is admirable. So it is not surprising to see the way the staff lookup to him and respect him. Even though our son is no longer with us, we are thankful from the bottom of our hearts for all what Dr Hennig did for us. He essentially earned us 2 ½ years for us to be with our son and make some great memories. We wish Dr Hennig the best in his career and his efforts in helping many patients and families the same way he did for us.

Dr Hennig has been my oncologist for nearly 5 years now. He got me through a horrendous 6 months of aggressive chemotherapy and saved my life. He has always made time for me, listened to me and been the voice of reason when I have struggled to cope. I will be forever grateful.

Dr Hennig is not only an incredible Doctor but an amazing gentleman. His input and expertise enabled me to overcome a very difficult cancer regime in 2015. I am completely cured and Ivo has a lot to do with it. Forever grateful, Dinesh (Coventry)

I have read one star reviews. I am terribly sorry to hear the bad experiences of some of the carers. However, i can personally vouch that Ivo is undoubtedly one of the most caring consultants that I have ever worked with. He had came in even at 2 am to see and treat a very unwell patient and I was there with him. He will literally go beyond the call of duty and personally, without a shadow of doubt, he will be the person I would want to be treated by. He is honest and very professional. All trainees I had spoken to really look up to him as mentor and I am grateful to be one of them.
